Voxopop is a way for your students to practice their speaking skills in the target language. The message board uses voice recordings instead of written messages. Within Voxopop the teacher can set up a talk group. The teacher makes the first message with a recording. The students then log in to Voxopop, follow the link for the talk group and respond by recording their voice.

Now it is your turn to create a google map.
We have been working with the 'Early Bird Dinner' text quiet a bit. In the text, the family goes to dinner in a restaurant. Let's say we are hungry, but we only have a short lunch break to go and eat in a restaurant.
Follow these steps:
1. Sign in to google map here. This is your regular gmail or uic gmail account. 2. Select my custom map on the top left corner (first and second picture). Click on create. Name your map and include a short discription. For example: Name - UIC Campus Description - This map shows you 3 restaurants close to UIC 3. Navigate to the UIC east campus on the map and think of 3 restaurants close to campus. 4. Use the tool bar (third picture): First, select the area with the restaurants (the black square in the example). You can do this with the 'draw a line' tool, the second one to the right. Next, place the pin where the first restaurant is located. Name the pin after the restaurant. Include a brief description of the restaurant (picture 4). You can also include pictures. For that you have to select the camera on the bottom right hand corner and search the restaurant, select any picture you like and press save. Repeat this second step two times until you have marked three restaurants on your map. 5. Use the share button on the right top corner to make your map public. You will only get the embed code if your map is public. (picture 5) 6. Hover with the mouse over the folder on the top left of the screen and select 'embed on my site' (see picture 6). Copy the code into your weebly site. |
